Although we are sometimes oblivious to it, gaming is
more than just a hobby enjoyed in the United States and
Japan. Video games are starting to reach into all kinds
of markets and all different languages. So, to further educate
the gaming community, Games That Matter here to help.
Every
week, we will feature a different games company and country
and interview the developer about gaming in their part of
the world.
This
week, we interviewed the Burut Creative Team from Russia
about PC Gaming. Here is the interview and to find out more

1. When was your company founded?
Burut CT is a software-development studio that was founded
in October 1999. At first we developed some educative programs
such as "How to improve your memory", Mathematics
Encyclopedia and Massage Encyclopedia. And then having well-coordinated
team of 11 persons we started developing games. Our first
game project and first
success in the entertainment industry was the fantasy role-playing
game titled "Heath". It was released in March
2001. Due to the "Heath" we gained useful experience
and name in the game market. Our current office is located
in the center of our city, Voronezh, and is equipped with
powerful computers.
2. How many employees do you have?
Now we've nearly 40 persons who work on different projects.
3. In what countries do you sell your games?
We sell our games in Russia of course, along with Ukraine,
Spain, Italy, Czech, Poland and soon our games will be released
in US and Germany.
4. Is there a big market for video games in Russia?
No, now videogames became old and changed to PC-games. There
are a lot of PC games of different developers in Russia.
5. What kinds of games have you made, or do you plan
to make?
We make RPG, FPS and we are going to make Strategy games
soon.
6. How do you create your games? What programs do you
use?
We use C, C++, AsM, and Pascal etc.
7. Are all of your games in Cyrillic, or do they incorporate
some English also?
They are in Cyrillic, but now we are working on localization
of Kreed and Goldenland: Cold Heaven.
8. Any idea when your games will be released in North
America?
Expect to see a US version of Kreed in a month or two.
