Golden Sun is
an RPG for the Gameboy Advance, and it has amazed people
how good it is. This game has great graphics for the Advance,
and a pretty good story. The game is not too short, and
will take a while to beat.
The game starts
with your mom shaking you awake because a huge boulder is
falling to crush your town. The town elders are using their
psynergy to hold it, but they can't hold out for very long.
You run away, to where everyone is standing watching a boy
named Felix drowning. You run to find someone with psyenergy
left, and find some dude. You run to save him, but the boulder
falls and crushes Felix and all the people watching. You
run for help, and you and your friend Garret run into a
couple of mysterious
people, who see you eavesdropping and knock you out. The
game continues three years later, and you, Garret, Jenna,
Felix's sister, and an old man named Kraden set out on a
quest to Sol Sanctum, where the boulder came from, and things
progress from there.
You go through
Sol Sanctum, and after you discover the four elemental stones
that give the very psynergy to the world, the strange people
that beat you up three years ago arrive and hold Jenna and
Kraden hostage. Garret hands over the elemental stars of
Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter. Suddenly, the Sanctum rumbles.
This big floating eye dude, the protector of the elemental
stars, pops up. The evil guys, along with Jenna and Kraden,
run off through the portal, and you and garret grab the
Mars Star, and escape as the protector tries to hold the
volcano under Sol Sanctum from exploding.
From here on
in, you run from town to town, chasing after Saturos, Menardi,
Felix, and Alex, the people who have stolen three elemental
stars and have kidnapped your friends. You go on little
side quests, meet other characters, like Ivan and Mia who
join your party, and you battle through forests, caves,
lighthouses, and other place. The battle sequences are about
the same as other RPG's, except for some really cool psynergy
attacks you can do. The game play is long enough to last
a while, and is very fun and moderately challenging. This
is really a great game.
