Metroid Fusion

Samus is back in the new adventure Metroid Fusion. The story begins back on SR388 where a new unknown organism is discovered, the "X" parasite. While at SR388 the parasite infects Samus. She doesn't realize this at the time and she boards her ship to go off to find her next bounty. As soon as she starts off she begins to go unconscious. Her ship floats into an asteroid belt. The ship jettisons an escape pod before ship explodes. The space station orbiting SR388 comes to the rescue and saves Samus from floating off into space. The X parasite has multiplied rapidly and infects almost all of her Power Suit. The suit must be surgically taken off and Samus must get a new suit. The old power suit is stored in a quarantine bay on SR388's space station.

After leaving the station a distress call comes out from it. Samus hurries back to find a unknown monster reeking havoc on the station. It turns out this unknown monster is a evil clone of Samus. The X parasite in the Power Suit evolved into the mutant cloneSA-X (Samus Aran X). The Power Suit has all the upgrades Samus has ever gotten. So now SA-X has all the weapons it needs to search out and destroy Samus. Samus must play it safe and be very cautious, she has Metroid genetics in her and she must think with that in mind. Now with a new suit Samus must find all her power ups and somehow must seek and destroy the evil SA-X before it destroys the whole space station.

The game play is very good. The controls are ok but using the R-button to shoot a missile is hard especially while moving around. During the game it is confusing at first but the parasites that create the monsters also heal you and refill your missiles.

The one thing I would change is the map. The game map in Super Metroid for SNES is very nice telling you were all the power ups are. If they did this in Fusion it would make the game a lot easier to find the things you need. The areas aren't very big so it really doesn't take a lot of time to go everywhere. Some places you need to examine a room very carefully because there might be a secret opening you need to bomb or shoot through with missiles. The game graphics are very good for the GBA.
The game itself is just amazing. I highly recommend this game to anyone.
