The Simpsons Road Rage
Simpsons Road Rage is very similar in design to Crazy Taxi; the object of the game is to get as much money as possible by taking people to where they need to go. The premise fits fairly well with the Simpsons license, but unfortunately, the gameplay does not.

This game has similar objectives as in the Sega game, except without the best things from Crazy Taxi that made it fun. There are no tricks or additions for driving well, just mindlessy driving and following the arrow at the top of the screen. What results is a bland clone with no bonuses for being a good driver.

The controls are very simple compared to other racing games: there is gas, brake, reverse, and a button to change the camera angle. The cars in the game handle pretty well, even though they are feel exactly the same. I didn't know that a station wagon and monster truck handled the same, but I guess they do in Springfield.

The graphics could be considered average, with pretty large 3D maps and basic car and character designs. Some of the levels look a little too empty for my taste, though. The textures could use some work too; some of the buildings look like pieces of plastic.

The best thing about this game would be the huge amount of voice samples they have included into the game. Each of the drivers has many different voice samples, with each of the people you pick up having a few different one. Although with all games of this sort, the sounds start to become repetitive after awhile.

In the end, this is a very quickly played game. I would recommend this game for a rental, and nothing more.
