Dear GTM,

I am a big time fan of the pokemon series (on the gameboy mind you, not this crap they keep putting out for console, except for of course puzzle league) and became excited when I saw what I thought was a new poke RPG for the cube. It turned out however to just be another stadium. What I would really like to see is nintendo create a new pokemon RPG for the cube and make it online, for one bad ass MMRPG. What I would give to face off against some dude in Zimbabwe with my collection of Uber-mon. Also they should make the levels infinite, so that gameplay would never end. Maybe you could even start your own gym or something, or become a member of the elite trainers. Since Square and Nintendo are dating again, possibly there could be a joint venture between the two like 1996's awesome Super Mario RPG? Your thoughts.

MegaGamer2010: I think the idea of an MMORPG is pretty interesting. Especially now because of all the new pokemon types that came with the newer games. It could work.

But I don't see it happening anytime in the near future. If they did decide to make the game it would take a few years and would definately be released in Japan first like Final Fantasy XI.

The only problem I see is that especially in America, Pokemon only appeals to the younger kids. I remember I used to love it when I was little but as soon as I turned 12 or so I just grew out of it. And I doubt pre-teen kids and under have the kind of money to be paying monthly fees or even understand the concept of an MMORPG. I don't think it would be a huge success in America.

N65ultra: If only Nintendo wasn't so anal about online gaming. In recent interviews with Iwata, it is obvious that they aren't going to bring any of their systems online for a while, and this is going to ruin them in the end.

This is a perfect idea if Nintendo would wisen up, I say.

MegaGamer2010: Yeah, Nintendo has no clue how much they are hurting themselves. Sony and Microsoft realize the potential in online gaming. It makes games a lot more fun and makes them last longer.

Seriously, imagine being able to play Rogue Squadron, Mario Party, Super Smash Bros, or Mario Kart online (ok, mario kart can be with a program similar to xbconnect, but it's still not all that great).

GTM,

The other day I was watching TV and a new commercial came up for the playstation title Final Fantasy X - 2. Now being a long time fan of the final fantasy series and squaresoft in general, I instantly got excited to see the previews of the first final fantasy to actually be a sequal to another FF. As I watched I stood in horror of the scene that fell before me. The three main women from the previous game (I apologize for not remembering any of thier names at the moment) were dancing around in scantily clad uniforms, breasts bouncing around in all thier pixelated glory, doing things I hoped I would never see a FF character do.

Singing pop songs on stage, running around like a Lara Croft rip-off, and just generally looking like a Christini Slutulara music video. I was astounded, shocked, and hurt. Now one can say that squaresoft (err, square - enix) must change with the times. But the final fantasy series didn't need changing! Why oh gods of GTM, why is squar!
e doing this to their loyal fans! First Celda, then the MicroSoft Ca$hBox, now this!! The world has seen better days.

N65ultra: I feel your pain, Pappalink. With the exception of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, it seems that nothing really that great has come from the merger of Square Enix just yet.

Lysonicstorm: Unfortunately, the media, a bad licensing agreement, and some horny kids like to push stuff around, and a good saga can get owned. Look at poor 007, things are going sweet with Goldeneye, Rare awed the world, and then EA ate the license, and pumped out crap like a city sewage system. And I can only fear the worst with EA eating Westwood, and it's wonderful Command and Conquer games, Generals was pretty good, but like I am fearful of the future. Time will tell. Sorry about FF, I haven't played it.

Dear Games That Matter,

I was appalled when i recently visited your website, games-that-matter.com. When I went to read the gamecube reviews, I expected to see some legitimate opinions on some of my favorite games. Instead, I saw that both Mario Kart & Mario Party are nowhere to be found! As a female gamer, I expect that at least the best games ever created should be on your website, and the two games I mentioned deserve some respect. Thank you for your time.

Sophie Hilaire

N65ultra: I will have to admit, the lack of a Mario Kart Double Dash review would be my part. I said I was going to review it more than a month ago, and it just hasn't happened. Expect to see a review up once I stop being so lazy.

Lysonicstorm: Yeah Jim, you never do any work on this site you lazy piece of crap. Meh, get Monotoli or G_23 to do it, they have it. You got enough to do. Well, Miss Hillaire has a point. We do need to try to get especially the most popular games reviewed. It is nice to hear from a female gamer every now and then. Thanks for the mail.

G_23: Obviously, there are a lot of reviews that aren't up because unlike IGN and Gamespot, we can't get games as soon as they come out (or earlier) and finish them in one week. I sure as hell know I can't. And, I, too have been way too lazy when it comes to this site. I did write up a review for Viewtiful Joe a few weeks ago, but I pressed a wrong button and my review got erased and I felt too lazy to retype it.

Lysonicstorm: Laziness is teh enemy men.

My Fire Emblem review was accepted, but never put up. What's the holdup? Maybe you should have more than one person (Jim) putting up the reviews. Jim said he would edit it and find screenshots, but I don't see that happening.

Karsten Treu

Requiem: I can do this.

It wasn't very good. You aren't part of GTM. It should go in the "Reader Reviews" board. Have a nice day.

Lysonicstorm: Uh, Jim should not be promising people stuff he can't do though, we need to revamp the system for reviews.

N65ultra: The main reason we aren't accepting reader reviews right now is because we're still trying to work the kinks out of the site. Later on down the road we will probably institute it again.
