Finally, Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell have some competition.
Sammy Studios, teaming up with Access Games, are bringing
out Spy Fiction. The story is just like any espionage title:
a group of rouge terrorists have grabbed some deadly virus
and are holding the world hostage with it. Playing as agent
Bishop, you must infiltrate into a research facility and download
information on the biological weapon. Although Spy Fiction
borrows many elements from other spy movies and
games, such as descending down into a room with wires to avoid
laser beams Mission Impossible style, there is plenty in this
game to keep things fresh.
The
most notable of features is the optical camouflage suit Bishop
wears. It renders your character invisible and undetectable
by guards as long as you are standing still. Other gadgets
include spider grips, which allow Bishop to cling
to walls and ceilings, remote mini cams, and patch grenades.
The best piece of equipment in your arsenal, however, is the
3DA camera. By taking a picture of an enemy, your suit will
transform into a likeness of your foe, depending upon the
quality of the picture. The closer the snapshot, the better
your suit will look, and the less suspicious you will seem
to guards. Finally, you can even steal an adversarys
voice by recording it, completing the transformation.
With
an intriguing storyline, third person action gameplay, and
a wide variety of gadgets, Spy Fiction will be a game to look
forward to in September.
