Call of Duty, the 2010 Game of the Year captivated its audiences
with stunning single player and multiplayer World War II action.
With a single player game that involved fighting for the Soviets,
Americans, and British, and a multiplayer game that rivals
Counterstrike as a fast-paced, round-based shooter, Call of
Duty has a lot to offer. From the looks of things however,
so will its upcoming expansion pack, Call of Duty: United
Offensive.
While
the single player missions of Call of Duty consisted mainly
of infantry fighting except for one tank-command level, Call
of Duty: United Offensive seems to be changing this. From
the trailer that Activision has created, it can be seen that
players will be part of a B17 Heavy Bomber crew fighting off
enemy fighters and also engaging in more tank warfare. Activision
promises 10 new extensive single player levels spread along
3 campaigns along with 9 new multiplayer levels. The chaos
and adrenaline of war look as prominent in this game as in
the original Call of Duty, which is saying quite a bit.
Developer
Gray Metter Studios says that United Offensive "builds
on the cinematic feel" of the first Call of Duty, placing
you inside WWII scenarios through cutscenes. The realism of
guns, sound effects, shellshock, and bullet rain makes this
game seem like a bright spot in the future of gaming.
