Who
here likes golf? No honestly, who does? Yeah, not many people
will raise their hand. Golf isn't that fun of a sport. It's
the same old thing over and over again. It takes hours.
The players will stand there for minutes looking to see
how they should hit the ball and then when they do the action
only lasts for about 5 five seconds. Big whoop. The crowd
can't even cheer, they have to "golf clap" which
sounds really pathetic. Does Outlaw Golf fall into that
pit of boringness?
Hell
no. Does the name sound like one of those boring games?
Tiger Woods what? Sorry, all I know is his name, beyond
that I get put to sleep. Outlaw Golf is an awesome golf
game, which is definately a rare thing. It has golf in it,
yes, but it is so much more. It is a fast paced arcade gam
wrapped around the sport of golf. Driving the ball 300 meters
has never been so easy before. Now you don't have to be
quiet while you wait ten minutes just for the guy to hit
the ball. Pull back the joystick how hard you want it hit,
and then try to knock it straight forward. The gameplay
is incredibly easy to understand and that is what makes
it so much fun. Of course, what is better are the characters.
You will be laughing your ass off at some of the things
they do (or get turned on as a chick gets her as slapped
by her "caddy" a cheerleader, oh yeah baby).
The
graphics are very good in this game. The characters are
very highly detailed and are very smooth, no jagged edges.
They look slightly cartoony as they should. The environments
aren't anything impressive though. They look alright, averagely
detailed, but they could definately use some work. But the
background definately doesn't take away from how much fun
this game is, especially when you have some friends over.
The voice acting in this game is AWESOME. The people they
have playing the voices are perfect for the parts. The wannabe
macho man, the dumb blonde, etc. And they say the funniest
things. Without good voice acting and a hell of a lot of
comedy, this game would have definately fallen into that
pit of boringness along with all the other golf games out
there. But this game really seperates itself from the pack.
The
replay is why you should pick this game up. There are a
ton of unlockables, which gives incentive to play the single
player. But the multiplayer is also a lot of fun. The characters
are so funny that you and your friends will be laughing
your asses off at the stuff they say. Really, the only reason
this game isn't as good as it could be is because it doesn't
have Xbox Live play. That would definately help it out.
But if you have some friends who come over a lot this is
a good game to at least rent and try out to see if you like
it.
